1. Eligibility

This competition is open to anyone residing in South Africa, except any director, member, partner, employee, agent, or consultant of the Promoter, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoter, or any supplier of goods or services in connection with the competition, as well as their immediate family members.

2. Competition Structure

Runner Awards™ 2026 will take place as provincial awards events, including but not limited to:

  • Gauteng

  • Western Cape

  • KwaZulu-Natal

Each province will have its own nominations period, voting period, and awards ceremony, as published on the official Runner Awards™ website.

3. Nominations

  • Nominations may be submitted via:

    • Official SMS/USSD platforms; and/or

    • Official Runner Awards™ online nomination forms.

  • Nomination fees may apply depending on the channel used.

  • Nominees must meet the eligibility requirements of the relevant category and province.

  • The Promoter reserves the right to verify nominations and request supporting documentation (e.g. race results, ID, proof of participation).

4. Voting

  • Voting may be conducted via:

    • Official SMS/USSD short codes; and/or

    • Official Runner Awards™ online voting platforms.

  • SMS/USSD voting is charged at R1.50 per session.
    VAS rates apply. Free SMS or bundled minutes do not apply.

  • Online voting fees (where applicable) will be clearly communicated on the voting platform.

  • Votes are counted per category and per province.

5. Competition Periods (Indicative 2026 Dates)

Gauteng

  • Campaign Commences: 02 February 2026

  • Campaign Ends: 18 July 2026

  • Awards Ceremony: 18 July 2026

Western Cape

  • Campaign Commences: 09 February 2026

  • Campaign Ends: 01 August 2026

  • Awards Ceremony: 01 August 2026

KwaZulu-Natal

  • Campaign Commences: 04 May 2026

  • Campaign Ends: 31 October 2026

  • Awards Ceremony: 31 October 2026

The Promoter reserves the right to amend or extend these dates without prior notice.

6. Nominee Announcements

  • Final nominees per category will be announced on dates communicated on the official Runner Awards™ website and platforms.

  • Only shortlisted nominees will proceed to the voting phase.

7. Winners & Judging

  • Winners may be determined by public voting, adjudication panels, or a combination thereof, depending on the category.

  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

8. Prizes

  • Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.

  • Specific prize details (where applicable) will be announced per category or activation.

9. Use of Name, Image & Likeness

By entering this competition, participants grant Runner Awards™ the right to use their name, likeness, images, videos, and/or photographs in any advertising, promotional, or marketing material without compensation.

10. Proof of Eligibility

Voters and nominees must retain proof of eligibility (e.g. race results, identification, or proof of participation) if requested by the Promoter.

11. Disqualification & Termination

Runner Awards™ reserves the right to:

  • Disqualify any participant or nominee found to be in breach of these Terms & Conditions; and/or

  • Terminate or suspend the competition immediately and without notice if circumstances beyond its control arise.

In the event of such termination, all participants waive any rights they may have in respect of the competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Runner Awards™, its agents, or promoters.

12. Acceptance of Terms

Participation in the Runner Awards™ 2026, whether by nomination, voting, or attendance, constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

  1. This competition is open to anyone residing in South Africa, except a director, member, partner, employee, agent, or consultant of the promoter, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the promoter, or a supplier of goods or services in connection with the competition, as well as their immediate family members.
  2. To vote in this competition, participants must dial [120*1501#]. USSD session cost: R1.50
  3. The promotion runs from 15 August 2025 up to the 26th of September 2025
    and may be extended without notice.
  4. Nominees per category, to be announced on 29 September 2025
  5. Final category winners will be announced at the Runner Awards™ ceremony on 01 November 2025.
  6. Voters and nominees must retain proof of eligibility (e.g., race results, ID proof of participation) if requested.
  7. By entering, participants grant Runner Awards™ the right to use their name, likeness, and photographs in any advertising and promotional material without compensation.
  8. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  9. Runner Awards™ reserves the right to terminate the competition immediately and without notice.
  10. In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive any rights they may have in terms of this promotion and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Runner Awards™ its agents, or promoters.
