
Rules & Terms
These Rules & Terms govern participation in the JHB In Stride competition and Runner Awards™ Gauteng 2026. By entering, nominating, voting or participating in any way, you agree to comply with the rules outlined below.
1. ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to South African residents aged 18 years and older.
Production companies, creative agencies and professional content creators may apply for the JHB In Stride reel competition.
Nominees and nominees’ businesses must operate within their respective province.
Employees, contractors or immediate family members of the Runner Awards™ organising team may not participate unless otherwise stated.
2. COMPETITION OVERVIEW
JHB In Stride is a creative reel competition forming part of Runner Awards™ Gauteng 2026, designed to showcase storytelling, creativity and running culture through short-form video content.
Runner Awards™ Gauteng 2026 celebrates excellence within the running community through nominations, judging and public voting.
3. ENTRY & SUBMISSIONS
All entries must be submitted via the official application forms on this website.
Submissions must be original work and may not infringe on any third-party rights.
Incomplete, late or non-compliant entries may be disqualified at the organiser’s discretion.
No entry fees apply unless stated otherwise.
4. JHB IN STRIDE REEL COMPETITION RULES
Finalists will be selected through a portfolio review process.
Selected finalists will be assigned Runner Awards™ categories through an official category draw.
Reels must be between 90 and 120 seconds in duration.
Finalists will be given a six-week production period.
Content must align with the values, image and integrity of Runner Awards™.
Offensive, misleading or inappropriate content will result in disqualification.
5. NOMINATIONS & VOTING
Nominations must be made within the nominee’s respective province.
Public voting will take place during the announced voting period.
Voting limits and mechanisms will be communicated on the website.
Any attempt to manipulate voting results may result in disqualification.
6. JUDGING & DECISIONS
Judging criteria include creativity, storytelling, technical execution and relevance.
Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
No correspondence will be entered into regarding judging outcomes.
7. CONTENT RIGHTS & USAGE
Participants retain ownership of their submitted content.
By entering, participants grant Runner Awards™ a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use submitted content for:
Marketing
Promotion
Media
Archival purposes
Content may be shared across Runner Awards™ digital and physical platforms with credit where applicable.
8. PRIZES & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Prize details will be communicated where applicable.
Winners will be announced at the Runner Awards™ Gauteng 2026 Ceremony.
Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash unless stated.
9. DISQUALIFICATION
Runner Awards™ reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
Breaches these rules
Submits false information
Engages in unethical or harmful conduct
Brings the competition or brand into disrepute
10. CHANGES & CANCELLATION
Runner Awards™ reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition if circumstances require.
Any changes will be communicated via the official website or channels.
11. LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
Runner Awards™ will not be liable for:
Technical failures
Lost or delayed submissions
Any loss or damage arising from participation in the competition
Participation is at the entrant’s own risk.
